Process of Culture as a New Form of Production in Industrial Buildings: Buda Fabriek

Industrial buildings offer convenient spaces for current cultural uses, while use for cultural purposes has the potential to convert some constraints into opportunities for the reuse of industrial bu�ildings. Based on these ideas, the study focuses on the process of culture becoming a new mode of production in industrial buildings and aims to reveal the reasons for the adaptation of industrial buildings into cultural sites. First of all, the new features of contemporary cultural spaces by the effects of the information age have been put forward and then the industrial buildings are being addressed in the context of culture and adaptive reuse. The aim of this study is embodying the appropriate conditions offered by the industrial structures for cultural uses and also contribution of cultural functions in solving reuse problems, by examining the paths followed during the transformation process. For this purpose, a recent application of the Buda Fabriek transformation project was examined and hypotheses were tested.

End�stri yap�lar� g�n�m�z k�lt�rel kullan�mlar� i�in uygun mek�nlar sunmaktad�r ve k�lt�rel ama�larla kullan�m da end�stri yap�lar�n�n yeniden kullan�m�na dair baz� k�s�tlar� f�rsata �evirme potansiyeline sahiptir. Bu d��ncelerden hareketle, k�lt�r�n end�stri yap�lar�ndaki yeni �retim bi�imi haline gelmesi s�recine odaklanan �al��ma, end�stri yap�lar�n�n a��rl�kl� olarak k�lt�rel mek�nlar i�in uyarlanmas�n�n nedenlerini ortaya koymay� ama�lamaktad�r. �ncelikle enformasyon �a��n�n etkileri ile �a�da� k�lt�r mek�nlar�n�n yeni bi�imleni� �zellikleri ortaya konmu�, ard�ndan end�stri yap�lar� k�lt�r ve uyarlanabilir yeniden kullan�m ba�lam�nda ele al�nm��t�r. K�lt�rel ama�larla d�n��m i�in end�stri yap�lar�n�n sundu�u uygun ko�ullar�n ve k�lt�rel i�levlerin sorunlar�n ��z�m�ndeki katk�s�n�n, d�n��m s�reci boyunca izlenen yollar incelenerek somutla�t�r�lmas� hedeflenmi�tir. Bu ama�la, yak�n tarihli bir uygulama olan Buda Fabriek d�n��m projesi �rne�i incelenerek hipotezler s�nanm��t�r.
